Mattress Protector Size Guide India (Single, Double, Queen & King)
A fitted mattress protector only works if it actually fits — too small and it pops off, too large and it bunches up. Use this guide to match your protector to standard Indian mattress sizes and your mattress depth.
Standard mattress sizes in India
Sizes vary slightly by manufacturer, so always measure your own mattress before buying. The numbers above are the most common Indian standards.
Don't forget mattress depth (the skirt)
A fitted protector wraps the sides of your mattress with an elasticated skirt. The skirt depth must be at least as deep as your mattress is thick, or it won't stay on.
- Standard mattresses: 5–8 inches thick
- Pillow-top or orthopaedic mattresses: 8–12 inches — choose a deep-pocket protector
- When in doubt, size up on depth: a slightly deeper skirt still grips, but a shallow one won't reach.
How to measure your mattress
- Measure the length and width across the top surface, edge to edge.
- Measure the thickness from the top surface down to the base (this is your depth).
- Match length × width to the size chart, and pick a skirt depth equal to or greater than your thickness.
